Shawn Reed has worked in the Energy business for 30 years. Not only does he run his own consulting business, he is Vice President, Director of Business Development at Crescent Consulting. Crescent Consulting provides well-site support and logistic services in oilfields across the U.S.
Shawn feels that, “Music is an integral part of my life. It’s hard to imagine the world without “tunes”. My first memories of singing were on family vacations, singing Kingston Trio songs with my Dad. I suspect the Chorale hasn’t done many Kingston Trio songs lately, but the kids always have me humming along with whatever they sing.”
Shawn was first introduced to the Chorale by Trustee Steve Strachan, who knew of his love for music, as well as children. He and his wife, Lori, attended the Beach Ball event that year, and he was immediately hooked on the Chorale. He says, “It is truly an honor to be associated with the Chorale. Whenever I run across a member of the Chorale, I’m always impressed with the poise they exhibit.”
Shawn attended Columbine High School and was a charter member of Columbine Blue, the elite mixed show choir performing mostly pop music complete with choreography. He also performed with Unclaimed Freight, an all male group performing music such as Nuthin Like a Dame! He graduated from Klein High School in Houston, where he also performed with various ensembles and a barbershop quartet.
Shawn and Lori met at the University of Oklahoma. They have two sons, Kyle and Konner, who are currently studying at different colleges. Shawn is an avid golfer and fisherman and he continues his passion for singing by performing with the South Suburban Christian Church Chancel Choir and the Ancient Music Quartet.
