Tomorrow is Colorado Gives Day, a new initiative to increase philanthropy in Colorado. Unfortunately, Colorado ranks among the lowest states in charitable contributions, while at the same time, having some of the highest average incomes. Presented by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, Colorado Gives Day will take place during a 24-hour period starting at 12 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
Donations will be accepted through the website GivingFirst.org, with a goal of raising $1 million in one day for Colorado charities. The Colorado Children’s Chorale fundraising goal for Colorado Gives Day is $25,000. To learn more and participate in Colorado Gives Day, visit GivingFirst.org. You may donate to the Chorale by visiting our profile; make sure to schedule your donation for 12/8/2010 so that your gift will apply toward the Colorado Gives Day Incentive Fund.
The Incentive Fund is a pool of dollars created to leverage donations made to nonprofits through GivingFirst.org on Colorado Gives Day, and will be proportionally allocated across all donations received, increasing the value of each individual gift. At the completion of Colorado Gives Day, each nonprofit’s proportionate share of the Incentive Fund will be determined by calculating the total amount each charity raised compared to the total amount of donations made to all participating nonprofits.
Thank you to all of you for your ongoing support of the Colorado Children’s Chorale and our mission of providing important performance and music education opportunities for children.
