For children who give their all, week after week and year after year and who consistently sing with unabashed emotion from joyful to heartbreakingly sad, silly to incredibly moving, and all-out-crazy to intensely serious.
For every parent (and grandparent!) who so willingly shares a child and commits their time and energy to supporting that child through their tenure in the Chorale.
For every alumnus that, whatever they have chosen to do in this world, represents us with grace, determination and excellence.
For a community that steps up to serve on our Board of Trustees, supporting us in so many ways, but most importantly ensuring our viability now and into the future.
For the community at large who continues to believe in and sustain us, recognizing that the Colorado Children’s Chorale is truly one of Colorado’s cultural treasures and belongs to each and every one of us.
And last, but certainly not least, I am thankful for my own family – especially our new addition, grandson Jonah Karl Winburn. Both his mother, Dena, and his Uncle Devin, spent seven years of their lives on stage with the Colorado Children’s Chorale. Perhaps this is in his future as well. Or perhaps he’ll be a soccer superstar…or math whiz…or science genius…who knows?? Whatever he chooses, I only hope he embraces it with the same passion I see every day on the faces of our young performers. They bring their best to every rehearsal and every stage, inspiring me to do the same.
A safe and happy Thanksgiving to all!!
