Five workshops, five school concerts and four community concerts later, National Tour Choir can now make their way back to Denver.
National Tour Choir did a pair of workshops and school concerts over two days in Caldwell, Idaho, and finished the tour with a community concert at Jewett Auditorium on the campus at the College of Idaho. The kids from the Van Buren and Washington elementary choirs joined Tour Choir for two numbers during the show.
Before the concert started, the afternoon brought more study time, naptime and more poetry readings from what the kids wrote about their time in Washington state. If you know anyone in National Tour Choir, ask to have them read their poems…they are incredible. Not only are many of them great poetry writers, but they are expressive readers too.
By the end of the evening, Tour Choir finished the concert with the “Colorado Song” and received a standing ovation. For the eighth graders, it was their final Tour Choir performance, which brought a few tears. The Colorado Children’s Chorale will miss these talented and wonderful kids. They couldn’t have ended their Children’s Chorale careers on a better performance.
On Saturday we will hit the Birds of Prey Museum in Boise, and then make our way to Evanston, Wyoming for the night.
We’re almost home, but have miles to go before we sleep in our own beds.
P.S. We’ll be posting more photos from the final performance over the next two days, so come on back to check those out!
