On April 17th at 2:00pm, the Colorado Children’s Chorale will present their Spring Concert “We Are The Children” at Boettcher Concert Hall. As you might guess from the theme of the program, the music you will hear is representative of what it means to be a child, both here in the US and around the world.
After an afternoon of great music and inspirational performances, the concert will conclude with nearly 400 Colorado Children’s Chorale performers filling Boettcher Concert Hall to sing “We Are The World.” It will be a fitting ending to a program that lifts up children for the joy they bring, the courage they show, and the hope they provide for the future. You won’t want to miss it!
The song “We Are The World” was remade in the wake of the tragic earthquake in Haiti a couple of months ago and has had a significant presence in mainstream popular music. Chorale children are connecting with this piece on a very personal level, and while they understand the message behind the song, they also love to jam out to music that has a great beat!
At a recent rehearsal, the Apprentice Choir was preparing for the upcoming concert and took a little break to listen (and/or dance) to “We Are The World 25 for Haiti.” We join the action in the middle of the song. What you are about to see is not choreographed!
We are the world. We are the children. Don’t forget to come and hear the REAL performance on April 17th!
